Writer. Editor. Traveler.

Hello. Glad you’re here.

Here’s a thing that happened: In 2012, I was diagnosed with cancer. Everything turned out fine, but I had this overwhelming urge to get out of my cubicle and see more of the world. So far, I’ve been able to spend some time working from Italy, South Africa, and snowbird (workbird?) in the American South. But mostly I work from my home in Wisconsin, and I love connecting with great clients both locally and remotely.

I'm an award-winning writer and journalist with experience at daily newspapers and magazines in Wisconsin, Maine and California. That means I’ve written about a lot of different topics with the experience of working in different regions of the country. I've held various roles that have built my skills: a reporter, an opinion writer, a copy editor and news editor. I’m good at writing and editing digital content for businesses and organizations including social media, industry articles, blogs, case studies, white papers, website content and staff bios. I’m particularly skilled at taking complex information and making it interesting to a general audience.

In 2010, I earned my MFA in creative writing from Goddard College. My short stories have been recognized by the Wisconsin People & Ideas Fiction contest & published in Midwestern Gothic, Minerva Rising and other places. My collection of short stories and a novella, Finding the Bones, was published in 2023 by Cornerstone Press. My essay “Cold Front” appeared in the anthology Her)oics: Women’s Lived Experiences During the Coronavirus Pandemic, released March 2021 by Pact Press.
